The Department of Neurosurgery, Neurosciences Centre, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India takes the pleasure of organizing the 25th Annual AIIMS Microneurosurgery Workshop from 16th – 18th, February 2023.

The prime objective of the meeting would be to provide an atmosphere of education through interaction and technology. During this workshop, delegates will get to participate in many hands-on teaching exercises, attend didactic lectures and learn with masters. Live surgeries will be relayed from 3-4 operation rooms. A two-way communication will be available so that surgeon and participants can interact with each other.

Like every year, this year too the prestigious 33rd Sarveshwari Memorial and 5th P.N. Tandon orations will be held.

Since the inception of this workshop more than 20 years ago, this workshop has become very popular and now has on an average 200 participants from India and abroad.

Workshop History

Department of Neurosurgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences started in March 1965, with only two faculty members and a few beds. However, with dedicated efforts and sincerity of Prof. P.N. Tandon and Prof. A.K. Banerji, M.Ch training program could be initiated in 1967, when Dr. Brahm Prakash joined as M.Ch. student. In the last 52 years, Department has made a long journey in training over 175 neurosurgeons. Our Department has been at the forefront in imparting knowledge on new technical skills and improving skills of neurosurgeons by organizing regular cadaver and live surgery workshops. Every year eminent neurosurgeons from India and abroad join us in this academic exercise.

At present, Department of neurosurgery organizes two theme-based workshops. February workshop is focused on surgical procedures of Brain while the Oct-November workshop focuses on spine surgery.
